Unlocking a second core with another motherboard

Sorry if this sounds crazy, but I don't if it's possible. I recently just built a budget PC. The motherboard doesn't support an unlocking feature, but I have a PC that does, and it's the same socket type. Is it possible to unlock a core using another motherboard, then throwing it back into the original motherboard? Or is an unlocked core temporary for the system that it is in?
Sorry if this has been answered before, I've searched and couldn't find any answers.

Here are the specs

BIOSTAR A780L3B AM3 AMD
AMD Sempron 145 2.8 GHz (3.2 OC)
4 GB DDR3 RAM
80 GB 10,000 RPM HDD

Nope. Unlocking isn't a CPU level thing, it's a motherboard level thing, so the unlock wouldn't "stick".
