Could I have built better?

EDIT:

I ended up getting this off eBay because it seemed like a good deal for $835 shipped.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/300669556382#ht_500wt_1413

Was it a good decision or could I have built something better with that budget?

Also, will I need anything additional? Like a fan, thermal compound, or something because as I said my apartment can get really hot (like room temp 100F).

Approximate Purchase Date: This Week

Budget Range: $750 After Rebates

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Anime, Internet

Parts Not Required: Mouse/Keyboard, Monitor, Speakers (Recommendations still wanted though, except for the monitor)

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: None

Country: USA

Parts Preferences: by brand or type: Core iX (2500k would be great I suppose) and Nvidia (but will settle with Radeon 6870)

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: My apartment gets really hot in the summertime so I'm kind worried about the PC overheating (my PS3 died like that). The quieter the better.

  2. Isn't that PSU a bit underpowered for the rig and is that CPU/GPU worth the trade off of an i5/6870? I forgot to mention it but I will also be using this for video encoding.

I'll use this case if its okay as well:

  3. video encoding i5/6870 is better. gaming i3/560ti448 is better.

cx500w should be enough for either 6870 or 560ti. but you can pay $10 more and get a cx600

That's 679, without rebates, still have to buy the OS as well.

I've ordered the case and PSU, had to send the case back though. Not totally settled on all of it yet, still researching.

Check my sig. $600 build with either a i5 2400, GTX560Ti or both if you can afford it.
  8. Seems that I was misinterpreted. I want to spend a maximum of $700 Shipped and Before MIR. Also, I've up the budget to $750.
  9. So I ended up getting this off eBay for $835 shipped. Was it a good deal or could I have built something better (exclude the accessories)?

Also, will I need anything additional? Like a fan or something because as I said my apartment can get really hot (like room temp 100F).
  10. No commentary?
