16 or 32 bit pc card?

What are the differences in terms of performance for a LAN 10/100 card? The dealer said it doesn't really matter if you use 16 or 32 bit for LAN because the speed of LAN doesn't really take avantage of it.

Sounds your dealer doesn't exactly know what they are talking about. In most cases a PCI (which is 32-bit) 10/100Mbps NIC card will do. You are only as fast as your slowest part. If for some odd reason your other computers have older, ISA (16-bit) 10Mbps NICS then you will only communicate at 10Mbps, not 100Mbps.
Maybe they were refering to general Internet use?? Our 2 upstairs computers are connected by 10Mbps Linksys Phonlink NICS and are plenty fast for Internet use.

SOrry I didn't make this clear enough. I was talking about PCMCIA cards for laptops which houses either 16-bit or 32-bit (CardBus) slots. So, my question was would a 100Mbps connection over 32-bit PCMCIA take more advantage over one with 16-bit PCMCIA.
