FX8120 TEMPERATURE SHUTDOWN....?

HI guys

Am also using fx8120 (NOT OVERCLOCKED) idle temp 25-30c but while playing games and or rendering 3d images it ramps up to 70 like piece of cake almost every time i have stop the application/activity immediately. As we all heard and read dat 60-70c is
max temp point for this piece of silicon.

My main QUE...IS

Why don't the pc shutsdown itself why? What is the shut down temp for fx8120? Do i have to shutdown every time wen the temp rises. How check the shutdown temp?

i know most of ull will suggest a water cooler or an high end air cooler which am gonna get soon, but dat wont be the ans to the ques...

so plz tell me wat am supposed to do

There are settings in BIOS to be set for thermal throttling and shut down. Look them up in your motherboard manual.

i did try doin dat but just cant find it in M5a97 evo i shud be der but just cant get der.
IS der any other way to get it done.

Core Temp has overheat setting that will throttle it when the CORES hit a certain temp, but not the CPU itself. Try that out. I use it and here is the download link: http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/

On phage 3-23 in your manual there are Q-fan settings, have you played with those looks like the CPU fan if enabled only goes to full speed at 70°C. Lowering that limit will help.

yea rolli i have played around with those setting through AI suites II and keep and it is enabled. But i will still go in to bios and check up.
