More about first build opinions
  1. If the build is for gaming , then you don't need more than 8GB RAM
The HDD what you choosed is for laptops, here a HDD for desktop Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKX 500GB
If you don't use the video card for rendering and working to take benefit for those 3Gb RAM from your GPU then buy the cheapest EVGA 580. In that price range 7970 is much better in gaming and much better than any 580 , and a lttle cheaper.
For OS buy a 60GB-64GB SSD Mushkin Enhanced Chronos Deluxe 2.5" 60GB SATA III 90$
Buy a good and cheaper mobo.
    ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68
    ASRock Z68 EXTREME4 GEN3
    ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3
  2. Thanks changes have been made, should have noticed that was a laptop drive
