Right click on My Computer, choose properties. Somewhere in the window that pops up, or one of its tabs, it will tell you.

Alternatively, if you have a Program Files (x86) folder, you are on a 64 bit version.

The above works fine in Vista or Win 7 to discover the type of operating system you are using, but was that your question?

Knowing if your computer is CAPABLE of using 64-bit software is another matter. Older CPUs are not able to run 64-bit. BUT if you have a 64-bit operating system already installed, then you are fine.
