I have 256mb pc100 cas 3 ram, I want to add another 128mb but can't seem to find my current brand. I can find pc100 ram that runs at cas2. The bios will take care of setting the ram to cas3 right?

I think you should be alright; it would run at CAS3. Brands don't really matter 99% of the time, if compatibility problems are what you're afraid of.

it wont matter if u have a cas3 chip and want to add a cas2 keep the setting to cas3 and it will be fine. the cas 2 can be downgraded like using pc-66 on a pc-100 board the bus will slip to pc-66 jsut like the ram so dont worry. but for stability i would buy some good crutial or micron and replace the rest if cost isnt your issue other wise its not a total big deal.
