hey guys,

i wanted to know about the best, baddest, coolest and fastest pc on can have

the rules,

no one will use a server specs ie no 2p 4p etc and no xenon and opterons

this is gaming pc so no workstation graphic cards

use creative ways and dont just post some b**l s***t

the specs should be brought from sites which a public like newegg and scan

u can use custom build case and wc loop

and only available hardware

good luck :)

Most expensive stuff on the market, usually, but not always would give one the best computer.. But I accept OP's challenge, here goes.

All prices are Newegg, unless otherwise specified:

CPU- Intel Core i7-3960X - overclock that sumbitch >5.0GHZ $1050
Mobo- ASUS P9X79 WS - $380
RAM- 8 x Corsair Vengence 1600mhz 8GB modules- $800
Video card- 2x Radeon HD 6990 Dual Crossfire setup $1274
PSU- Corsair 1200 Watt Professional series - $280
Case- Mineral oil Kit from Puget Systems http://www.pugetsystems.com/aquarium-computer.php $596
HDD- 3TB Seagate Barracuda - $250
SSD- OCZ Agility 3 480GB - $650
Blue Ray Burner- LiteON- $100
Monitors- 2 x NEC Display Solutions 30' Widescreens - $4662
Speakers- Logitech Z906 5.1 Surround sound -$331
Mouse- Cyborg RAT 7- $81
Keyboard- Microsoft Ergonomic 4000 - $35 (cheap compared to everything else, but I have one of these, they're really nice)

Am I missing anything? Total build cost:$10,489

Other notes: Technically that Mobo will take 4 video cards, but the HD 6990 will only do dual crossfire, you could add 2 more crossfired and drive 1 monitor with 2 cards each.

i am gonna buy haswell e when its gonna

this is just curiosity and dream :p and i still properly dont understand def of troll

I took it as just a "just for fun" thread to see what can be done and how much it could cost, no I never assumed the average person (or above average even) would spend that kind of money on a desktop. However, if you go looking for trolls under every bridge, you're sure to find them.

4 7970s are better than 2 6990s

i cant find a reason to buy 2 monitors instead of 3. no one wants half their crosshair on each screen.
id rather have 3 of these, SAMSUNG S27A950D, yeah its a 27 and yes 30 is bigger but those 30s dont have 120hz or 2ms response. plus this bezel is much thinner.

that ssd isnt good enough. this pwns it
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227742

for case get a custom argon filled airtight case with peltier coolers.

Will the PCI SSD run as boot? Thats neat.

I have dual monitors (obviously not super expensive ones like the ones I put in my pipe-dream build), I love em, although I can't really see the need to have more than 2 personally.

the above build would be great if u change few things

graphic card
why 6990
3x7970 with dd gpu block

nobody plays on 2 monitors 1 or 3

come on guys this is it?

Show what u got i would post my build after 5 days

6990s benchmark better from what I've seen, not that I can afford either one to see for myself.

6990s benchmark better than the 7970 but thats because they are actually two 6970s shoved onto one card. you can only have two 6990s putting you to 4 GPUs which is the max crossfire supports. but 4 7970s are faster by far than those 2 6990s hell 3 are faster. and costs less, uses far less power and supports directx 11.1(though this doesnt matter till windows 8).
