Processor Motherboard decision.

I am building a new comp next week and have all the parts but these two.
Current setup is a AMD 6970(got used for $150), a 600W Corsair PSU, 8GB DDR3 Ram, and a 120GB SSD.

Most of these parts I either got from friends for cheap or were on sale online somewhere.

Now the issue I am having is I have only a $230 budget for a mobo and proc and i want 4 dimm slots   .....


My choices seem to be

1.) decent z68 mobo with a i3-2100
2.) ok am3 mobo with phenom x4 or fx series oc'd with a hyper212+

Which should i go with? If i have any other option, or if you have any other solutions that be great too
