Need some advice on updating my computer..

Hi I recently bought a new computer (Yesterday) it was a HP Pavillion H8-1170uk

I mainly bought it for gaming and to have a computer up to spec for at least a couple of years.

My main goal is to play BF3 on Ultra settings..

I was wondering what the biggest PSU and Graphics card I can possibly fit in there is...

At the moment Medium settings works ok with BF3 but obviously knowing that I can run BF3 on ultra settings which would give me some complacency

...The current GPU in the computer is a "Dedicated" 3GB Geforce 545

The current PSU is an OEM HP PSU at a Max of 436 Watts...

Motherboard Name: Pegatron 2AB5
OS: Windows 7 Home premium.
CPU: Intel QuadCore i-7 2600 @ 3.40Ghz
Mem: 8GB of DDR3 with two more availible slots.

Preferably would like a corsair 700W PSU, but I can't find any with two 8 Pins, unless it's actucally a 1200W which is excessive in my opinion.

23" HD monitor..

My budget is around 800 dollars... (600ish pounds)

  1. I will eventually take a picture of the inside of the case for a better picture and put some measurements on the picture too, but for now if someone knows without them it would be great..
  2. With an $800 budget you can grab a GTX 580( and a nice Corsair AX 850w PSU (, granted, i am not sure how much space you have inside that system, so you might have to do some measuring. Though really since you'll have about $113 left you could always migrate everything to a new case that will fit everything a lot better and probably cool everything a lot better too.
