More about friends real gaming machine
  1. Change the case with this COOLER MASTER HAF 912
and the video card with this SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit and you are in the budget. 6870 is much better then 550Ti in gaming.
  2. For gaming i5 2400 is the best option if you don't buy a K cpu.
    Intel Core i5-2400
  3. Ditch the 550Ti..for quality gaming you need a 560 or better
  4. Thanks for the advice, the case I was trying to get a big one, I have a antec 900 and with my 260 vid card i have like no room and cable management sucks.

also it can prob go higher the 600 if upgrading somethings to little bit better components
  5. Oh also prob gonna have to spend the 99 on windows 7 :/
  6. Go for a Radeon 6850, they're at $135 after MIR now. You could also get a good Z68 mobo for that price, they're a better option. You could probably also save on the HDD (a solid 500 gig drive can be found for ~$100) and PSU- check out the OCZ Fatal1tys, at least on Microcenter the 550W one is only $40 right now. Another idea is to get an i3 now, and save a bit of $$, but then upgrade to Ivy Bridge in a while. Definitely don't go with the 550 ti, the Radeon 6790 or 6770 would be better options in the same price range.

i really advice you to ditch that 550ti card, its way belove 6850, and the 6850 amd card is there with gtx560ti lol, no kidding, but it's your call....

now everything else looks awesome if you ditch the card and get amd sapphire 6850 or the msi gtx560ti (or evga if you want)....

and intel i5 2400 (non K) and it's all good

Ok with the updated CPU, Card and Case.... Anything else I should look at changing?
  9. Its great.
  10. typo on my setting above wrote belove instead of below sorry about that...

ok about that final setting your just lacking 1 thing..

and that is.......... order it now and then build it afterwards ok maybe thats 2 thing but well you get it anyway..
thats an awesome set up gives decent fps on a high setting, can play even bf3 with nice eye candy but not in the same aspect of 7970 but still great quality of game play
  11. Just talked to my friend and with the OS that I keep forgetting to add its at 917. He doesn't want to spend that much. Could we somehow drop like 200 bucks? or will that much money really hurt the performance?
  12. lets say 750 including OS
  13. Downgrade the CPU and mobo. i3 and a H61 mobo, that'll save some cash at least.
