What is the best NVIDIA videocard for SLI mode?

I'm buying new videocards, right now I think I will go with 2 EVGA 590 GTX, but I don't like the price of it
Are there other NVIDIA similar performance videocards that I can buy instead of 590 GTX for SLI and save some money?

GTX 590 SLI is a waste just go GTX 580 SLI or wait for 7970 to come out in another week.
