I don't want to buy a 2500k, I want a regular 2500. However, Microcenter doesn't carry the 2500, just the 2500k and the 2400. So where would be the cheapest place to get a regular 2500? Also, is the i5-2400 a significant drop in performance compared to the 2500?

You don't even need to over-clock it yourself, depending on your motherboard, most you can just click a big red button saying "OVERCLOCK" and it will do everything for you.

The i5-2500 and i5-2500k perform exactly the same at stock and the K series obviously has way more potential, so providing they are both at the same price point, it would be pure stupidity to buy the non-K series over the K-series.
