Best video card around $150?

I got all my parts picked out for my build and I ended up having a bit of money to spare that I decided to invest in my video card. What is the best video card for video editing and gaming around $150, no more than $160-170?

I can probably afford the 6870.
  2. I would suggest this one over the 6850 posted above.

I have this exact one. I overclocked it to a 6870 with a small increase in fan speed with Overdrive and it works amazingly and very cool.

I built a pc for my girlfriend with the 6850 gunit posted but could not get the same performance out of it.

P.S. after MIR the GPU was 150 without tax

microcenter has it for 5 bucks cheaper aswell

    goodluck and enjoy!

I use Sapphire cards all the time and have never had a single issue with them. One of my systems right now is using a Sapphire card.

The sapphire cards work great. All I am saying is I believe the cooling from the IceQ HIS cards overclock better and had better cooling. The sapphire cards are a bit cheaper, however the Cooling on the IceQ cards I believe is worth the small increase in price.

I'm about 80% sure a 7850 will cost at the very least 229.99$ Know way is it going to cost under a 7770! But the reported prices are 249.99 and 299.99$ for the 7850 and the 7870!
  10. Yes I agree the 7800-series is supposed to be comparable to the current 6900 series.

How does the NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti compare to the 6870/50.
  12. It's worse.

  15. It's less powerful but more power efficient.

Sorry my bad, though you recommended it . The 7770 should be $100.
  19. best price/performance is the 6850/70. 560 Ti after that. I would choose from those. Can always sli/crossfire later
