No display on boot

When i turn my PC on, the fans run and a single system beep happens (which is usual during POST).
But, nothing appears on the screen. It says that nothing is connected to the input.
I've changed HDMI inputs on the monitor, and switched DVI ports on my graphics card.
I've also taken out the graphics card and re-seated it. To no avail. The card seems to have power (the fans run).
I have not changed anything...
one day it was working, and the next time i turned it on, no signal seems to go through.
the card is maybe a year old... if that


My computer is:
AMD: Athlon 64 X2 5200+ 2991 MHz
Mobo: Gigabyte M57SLI-S4 v.2
RAM: 4GB Mushkin DDR2 PC2-6400
OS: Win 7 64bit
VC: Geforce GTX 470

Are the power connectors pluged in all the way on the card and have you tried other power connectors. What is your psu , watts , brand how old.

all the connections are good. checked them after i reset the card.
i have an 800 Watts BFG ES Series Power Supply. Its 2 or 3 years old.
