After upgrading from winxp to win 7 not able to play sound

Not able to play any audio after i have to upgraded from win-xp to win-7. I have tried using audio driver that i previously had with win xp but it was not compatible. I have tried downloading different audio drivers from net.
It did not work.

you can try uninstalling the driver and run W7 update (extensive search)
w7 should find a driver that works
