First of all, here are some of the system specs:
ASUS P4T motherboard-Intel i850 chipset
128MB RAM and P4 1.4GHz
I am getting a crackling atifact distortion of some kind when ever playin some forms of 3D EAX accelerated sounds such as Deus Ex, Starcraft EAX demo in SB Live! Experience, EAX Animation in Startup, and a few pops with effects processing demo in SB Live! experience.
Should I try changing the IRQ? If so how? All of my PCI cards are shown under IRQ 09 in win2k (probably false reading?).

I had the same problem with crackling not too long ago. But the bad thing is I don't know how I solved it. I know I didn't swap out slots; It's still sharing an IRQ with my network card.

That's what I hate about windows. Too much automatic stuff, and there's no real way to make anything manual, without a shotgun.....
