hey all

im running a fx 4100/4gb 1600 ram/asus m5a97 970

ok the issue im having is m,y cpu frequency is not stabilizing for some reason. it will drop to from 3600 to 3276 then to 1800 then to around 1300 then shoot back up, i figured it was an energy saving plan, so i went ahead and checked my settings, and it is not set to that. when i first installed it mid mayish it did not do this and it seemed to have started within the last week as far as i could tell. i also assumed it could possibly be the fact im not running to many programs so i went ahead and opened up d3 which i normally dont lag on and was having issues playing period, it kept dropping and i it would just stutter.

so not sure whats going on, bios is fully updated, energy saving is off.

thanks for the help

dude its normal operation, i doubt u'd actually be able to feel any difference turning those energy saving options ON. Its all in ur head!! :D

Remember these chips were designed to operate like this. AMD has been using this technology since before 2004 i believe, so its pretty much tried and tested.

PS:- FX chips min freq = 7x200 = 1.4GHz IIRC, not 1.3 as u mentioned :)
