After removing boot drive and reinserting, cpu fan very loud, 99%speed

Hi there,
Basically i dusted out my pc yesterday and i removed my C drive, and my storage drive.
After that clean my cpu fan has been crazy loud, running at full speed constantly, before it would fluctuate and get louder as the cpu got hotter etc, but now its full blast and ridiculous volume all the time.
How can i make it go back to normal, is this a bios error?
my pc specs:
Cpu: Intel i7 2700k
Cpu Cooler: Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
8gb corsair ram
gtx 550 ti graphics
Asus P8H61-M motherboard

Please help me, this noise in unbearable!

In the bios, check for a smartfan setting, and recalibrate and set to "quiet" mode.
