It currently has a t5450 @ 1.66ghz 2MB 667 FSB (merom) socket P I know i can upgrade to any of the following Socket P (MO) CPUS 667fsb or 800fsb ( santa rosa chipset) Wikipedia says... Die size: 143 mm2 (Merom), 111 mm2 (Merom-2M) Steppings: B2, E1, G0, G2 (Merom), L2, M0 (Merom-2M If i have a (MO) CPU can i upgrade to a CPU that's not a (MO), preferably the T7300 ( b2 stepping) My question is pretty much, can i put in a cpu with a different stepping. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Core_2_micro... any input would be fine More about : merom cpu socket steppings matter popatim a c 158 à CPUs a b α HP June 18, 2012 10:34:04 PM You will need to check hp support cpu list. HP typically locks the bios to operate with only a select few cpu's and others will not work. I do know that a bios update added support for T8100, T8300, T9300, and T9500. (stepping won't matter) If that helps. m 0 l maxpower054 June 18, 2012 10:37:29 PM Well thanks anyway, i'm going to take my chances with the cpu below.
