The 3rd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3610QM Processor (2.3 GHz, 6MB L3 Cache) is included in the price of the dv6 7000.

The AMD Quad-Core A8-3550MX Accelerated Processor (2.7GHz/2.0GHz, 4MB L2 Cache) is adding $70 to the dv6z 6c00.

If you're looking to game I'm pretty sure the A8 has the better gaming gpu which might account for why its higher priced than the more powerful (computationally) i7

Do you want to play any games with this laptop?
If so, at what resolution?

As you probably know the A8 has a video card built on the chip, so that has some advantages.

If you can give us the total price for each computer along with all the specs, we can help you decide which one would be better for your needs. As for the processors alone, the i7 is definitely better than the A8.

Number 1 is out, you do not want to be playing Diablo 3 with HD 3000 integrated graphics.

The GT 650M and the HD 7690M have not been added to Tom's Hardware Graphics Card Hierarchy Chart, so that makes it harder to compare.
