"solved" ish New system BSOD

The 16GB gskills ram kit (1600mhz f3-12800cl9q-16GBRL) Is not supported by my board (asus P868-v LX) Installing all 4 dimms caused system to be unstable and crash. Installed only 1 4GB dimm and have not had a problem. Tried 4 (16BG total) again after windows 7 64 install and it crashed. Tried 2 (8GB total) and it crashed. System is stable with single 4 GB dimm...

Just bought a whole new set of parts for a new system.
Asus P8Z 68-v lx
Intel i7 2600 sandybridge
16 GB ddr3 gskill 4 4 gb
WD 1 TB sata drive
evga geforce gtx 560 (not installed yet)
coolmaster 700w psu
windows 7 64 home

I'm getting bsod after a few mins in windows. I have updated the drivers for the onboard graphics and the usb 3. crashes before I can get large driver updates on. even in safe mode.
Getting different dumpfile errors. Using motherboard video right now, but still crashing...?

  1. In addition I have run tests on the ram and the hd, both passed.
    Can I install driver updates in safe mode? It crashes in safe mode too but seems to last longer...
