Recommended weight for a cooler

Hello,

I was wondering about the maximum weight that we can use for a cooler. I have seeing some coolers that have 700g and more. It is safe? How can I know what weight limit I have?
I'm using a i7 920 with a DX58SO motherboard.

Thanks for your time =)

  1. There is nothing to worry about. Gigantic coolers like the NH D14 & Silver Arrow weigh up to 1kg, they are tried and tested, they won't harm/break/bend your motherboard or your CPU.
Only thing is that if you constantly move your PC around, i.e. take it to a LAN party etc.. then a huge cooler, with too much jerking & movement might cause some damage.
