Hello. I am going to be building a budget Llano PC. I want to play games like battlefield 3 multiplayer on medium settings and civilization V. I would also like to be able to play the next couple of generations of bf games and all total war/rts games for years to come. Here is the list:

Approximate Purchase Date: ASAP

Budget Range: £500

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, surfing web, MS word

Parts Not Required: I need everything.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Well known UK sites.

Country: UK

Parts Preferences: AMD Llano A8 3870k, ati hd 6670, this case: http://www.amazon.co.uk/CiT-Mars-Tower-Gaming-Display/dp/B004UET8GO/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1330876098&sr=1-1-catcorr (I require bling)

Overclocking: The Llano I will OC to 3.57ghz.

SLI or Crossfire: Hybrid CF with llano and 6670

Additional Comments: The case needs a window and lots of bling.

My current part list:

CiT Mars Case @ £30

Monitor: I am really stuck here. I'm not sure what resolution to get or what contrast ect.

RAM: I am told the Llano functions best on 1886mhz RAM but I think 1600mhz will do. I am also unsure which make is best and whether or not my MB will support it.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Should I go with intel? The only reason I first decided to go amd in this build is because I wish to overclock this system and to do that with ease on an intel machine i would need at least an i5 2500k and a p67 mobo which would be way way out of my budget considering that I need an OS and a monitor in that price as well.

The other reason why I'm thinking AMD is because I have a slight soft spot for them. ;) I suppose I would get a better upgrade path with lga 1155 but I am still unsure.

Anyone get any ideas on the 6670, RAM and monitor? This is what I came up with:

That comes in significantly lower that my budget(without GPU). I count around £360 if you include the odd p&p charge. Should I discard the LLANO part altogether and get a phenom x4 and am3 motherboard? Should I just use the money saved to get a 6870? Please could you help me as I am really stuck!

I read somewhere that all coolers for am3 were compatible with fm1.
