Will a wireless router work without a pc switched on

is it possible to use a wireless router for making a wifi setup by connecting the router only to the broadband modem while the pc is kept switched off.if so which is the best bang for buck wireless router available now?

It will work regardless of the computer and in fact will work without one at all once it's set up.

Can't help on a recommendation though - my comments from the UK would be worthless in, say, the States.
