HS Radeon 6870 Need help

Hello everyone. I built a new computer with the following components:

HIS HD Radeon 6870 (stress test proved to crash it)
i5 2500k 3.3 quad (Stress tested to be stable)
16 Gigs of corsair ram (memtested to be stable)
and a 750W Corsair PSU
Acer 1920x1080 23' Monitor

My problem is that my gpu will crash/drivers will fail and my screen will either:

A) go a random solid striped color
B) Freeze and flicker before BSOD
C) Freeze then come back with a driver has failed message

Now as I said earlier I have concluded it is either a problem with my GPU or PSU. I have ensured the following:

A) Re-installed Driver from CD
B) Checked for Driver updates
C) two separate 6x2 power cables are powering it
D) Tried to use a different monitor

I am open to try anything, a few ideas i had were as such (tell me if they would have any relevance)

A) Change PCIx16 slots
B) Return the video card for a replacement

Also when I tried to use a different monitor it seemed to not crash as often, but once it had crashed I was forced to restart my system (aka i couldn't simply switch monitors). Please offer suggestions, also thanks for taking the time to help me.

Yep, either the PSU or GPU.
Do you have access to another PSU you can try? A friend's, or one from another build?

Currently no i do not. This PSU is from my older build but that only had a negligible GPU power requirement.

750 corsair is a great PSU, have you tried getting it to work with another graphics card? Perhaps your old one?

That's a really solid build btw.

A quick update. I have an older video card that works fine. Im thinking about returning my card. Any other possible tests to run before i do?

The only beef i have with that is that i have been logging my card and here are the records throughout me gaming/surfing/idling.

you wouldnt by chance be playing battle feild 3 would you that game is buggier than hell ... they keep putting updates to it .. but each time it gets a little more stable but even so it crashes on my system too .. you really otta check multiple games...
