Theres a program you can download called Xbox Friends Thingy and that will
show you who is online. Or register on www.xbox.com and you should be able
to see your list.

I wish. I just got online with Live last night, popped in Crimson Skies
and waited... and waited... Never did find a game. It would have been
nice if there was a pop-up like some message boards: "There are
currently 42 people playing, 37 of them in private games..."

But nope. Nothing like that. I guess the danger is bad press from
"D00d1 I just got offline with Steel Battalion and there wasn't anyone
playing but me1 ths suxxors!"

I meant, to see how many people are playing a particular game. You know like at
the MSN Gaming Zone how you can see that x amount of people are playing game y.

I registered at Xbox.com but cannot see any link to anything except the forums.

Just found this page:
http://www.xboxfriends.com/viewgames.aspx

It wasn't working earlier though.

Crimson Skies:
Owned by: 1495
Currently playing: 5
Recently played: 206

Woohoo. Sign me up for XBox Live. ;-)

Does this page show all Xbox Live users, or just people using XboxFriends and
Xbox Live?

Thats the one I mentioned in my post. But it does only show those playing
the game who have the xbox live friends thingy program.

To answer my own question, I guess it only lists XboxFriends users, because some
Live-Enabled games aren't even listed there.

I would've thought someone could've reverse-engineered some Xbox Live client to
access the stats.

If you go to the Xbox.com site, then hit "Live", then go to "My Live"
you can see who on your "Friends" list is playing at the current moment.
From there you can just bookmark that page, and you'll just have to log
in to see it...

It's a pity MS don't have such a page. It'd be a pain to boot a game and log
into Live every so often just too find hardly anyone playing the game nearby. So
much more convenient via pc.

Thanks dude. But what if I don't have any Xbox friends yet and just want to see
how many are playing a particular game today?
