Regular computer crashes

i build this pc about 2 months ago however, for a few weeks now, every hour or so that my computer is running, my picture crashes, i say this because if i a watching a video, the sound will continue to play and because of this i think it may be me video card, which is a radeon hd 6870 so shouldnt be giving trouble. the screen that shows is blue with dark blue vertical lines, can someone help, thanks

Update you video drivers and see if that cures your problem. I had problems with crashing with the 12.4 driver so I went ahead and installed the 12.6a beta driver. Works well for me. If you have updated the driver, downgrade the driver. If you still have issues, with it crashing, Make sure you are providing enough power to the card, and if you Overclock, turn down the clock. Also you can turn up the fan speed and see if the cures the problem.

What temps are you getting and what power supply do you use?

Might even have a defective card.
