Just finished first build nothing displays on Monitor

I just finished my first build and I was excited to power up. Everything seems to be working fine but nothing comes up on my Monitor with when I boot up. Could this be a bad video card and if not what could be the problem? I have tried my LCD display with DVI and VGA. I also tried my plasma with HDMI and VGA and nothing comes up.

EVGA 570 Video Card
Seagate 3 tb hard drive
Intel 160 gb SSD
Corsair 16 gb ddr3 1866 mhz
Corsair HX1000 PSU
