Rest easy... The Hyper 212 EVO with an a second CPU fan in a push / pull configuration will keep your temps in check. That combo consistenly has i5-2500k and i7 CPUs cool when overclocked to 4.5GHz. Your X79 will see similar results. The 212 EVO will come with clips to add the second CPU fan to the heatsync.

CPU Cooler - Hyper 212 EVO -...
Not bad. My thoughts are below...

CPU Cooler - Good cooler and all, but the Phanteks won't do much better than the Hyper 212 EVO @ $35.
Hyper 212 EVO - $35

MB - The Rampage will perform the same as the Sabertooth at a lower cost.
ASUS Rampage IV X79 - $290

SSD - Again, good choice. Consider a 256GB model to save costs unless you know you will be needing the additional storage on the SSD. Also consider the Crucial M4 as it can typically be found cheaper than the Samsung 830 series.

PSU - 1000w is overkill even with a pair of HD 7970 GPUs.
CORSAIR AX750w Gold - $160 after MIR

Enjoy that rig!!

Yeah should have mentioned a few things; CPU, Mobo, Case and GPU are already in my possession. At this point, I am very anxious just having these $1,000 components just sitting around without a home lol :(

Will be ordering everything today to complete the build by this weekend. Thanks for the input and I do plan on enjoying it! Also, have been playing BF3 on my Asus ROG laptop....with a GTX560M.....not fun.

Just hope the wife doesn't get too inquisitive and start asking about cost.....

I am sooooo exhausted from researching and reading forum posts after posts trying to make a decision on a great air cooling solution. I am no where near making a decision as I was 2 weeks ago. To be completely honest, the CPU cooler is without a doubt the most skeptical component of my build. I am almost to the point of being so undecided on the cooler that I am just confused now lol....

CPU Cooler - Hyper 212 EVO - $35
2nd CPU Cooler Fan - CM Blade Master 120mm - $12

You may need this as your MB only has one CPU fan connector. This is to sync the two fan's speed...
PWM Y Cable - 12" 4pin - $4

I would have to agree with you, I don't know why I was over thinking this so much. The one thing that really had me undecided was the fact that the Sandy Bridge-E cpu's tend to run a bit hotter compared to the i7-2xxxs. Well lets give it a shot and see what happens, I will most likely try both just to satisfy my curiosity. (This build is funded on the business expense account lol)
