Additional Comments: I am replacing an old PPC mac pro tower that I used to cut lots of short videos over the years and sort photos. Upgrading would cost way too much. Kind of out of touch with exactly how much power i do need. Will either run vegas or Lightworks. Need to edit short basic videos for blog use using canon t3i. Would probably game more than actual work but Im no mega gamer, just miss PC gaming and see all the awesome stuff happening with STEAM and the mod community. Would like things to run well but Im not the type to need the best and insane framerates. Think the Idea of SSD is cool for fast loadup of OS and Big programs. thanks sorry Im not more specific. As I said, Its pretty much a general media use and gaming PC im looking for and basic net use but I do want something that can keep up when in need to cut quick HD videos and basic photo editing.

Since your budget it $1,000, you can upgrade each part to a better part.

You didn't mention anything about a monitor also so you can get an HD monitor for around $120-170.
I recommend Dell E2311H $179.99
