Question about the below RAM, the bottom most spec is "registered" and the others are "unbuffered" what's the difference? Because Crucial are out of stock of the "registered" type. Is it worth waiting for them to get more stock or is it OK to go with the others?

256MB DDR PC2100 • CL=2.5 • Unbuffered • Non-parity • 2.5V • 32Meg x 64

256MB DDR PC2100 • CL=2.5 • Unbuffered • ECC • 2.5V • 32Meg x 72

256MB DDR PC2100 • CL=2.5 • Registered • ECC • 2.5V • 32Meg x 72

Also, what is the best DDR RAM to buy? Is it PC2100 and is Crucial a good manufacturer or should I go for another.

Thank you very much for your help.

Hatim.

Check the FAQ at the very same Crucial website that you visited before. It explains all about registered, unbuffered, etc. etc. etc. In two words, you need registered only if you wanna run a server.

Crucial is great. Just got a 256meg stick myself. Free 2 day shipping doesn't hurt either.
You don't need registered, unbuffered is just fine.

You bet, I would also suggest, as the other poster did, to read through the FAQ's at crucial's site as they are quite informative on what all the differences in memory are.
