What can interfere with wireless

My wifi isn't as fast as it should, what could be interfering?

Metal in the way - radiators, etc. Microwave ovens are a definite possibility adn even the time controllers on some street lighting can affect 2.4Ghz wireless. Any radio hams in your area?
