SB Plat 5.1 vs SB Plat

What would you guys recomend Sound Blaster live! Platinum 5.1, or Sound Blaster live! Platinum they are about $50 dif in price and i woundered if someone knew the diferences in feachures

The major difference is in the Live Drive. Although there are a few differences in the cards and software bundled.

I believe the non 5.1 Platinum package comes with the original Live Drive. The 5.1 comes with the newer Live Drive IR

The Live Drive IR is vastly superior to the original Live Drive. Remote Control, Optical, SPDIF, AUX2, Line in/Mic2 and MIDI In/Outs all on the front panel.

Check with the supplier though to be sure that different Live Drives are indeed featured.

ANd lets not forget to mention that the Sound Blaster Live has 4 channels, and the 5.1, well, has an extra center channel and a sub channel.... so if you'Re going for the full DVD AC-3 experiance, the 5.1 would be the choice to make... but if you don'T care for the 5.1 audio, and you'Re fine with 4 channels, then get the regular Platinum.
