Hello,

I see, from http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13249_na/..., that the following are possible.
"
Intel® Xeon® E5540 (2.53GHz/4-core/8MB/80W, DDR3-1066, HT, Turbo 1/1/2/2) Processor
Intel® Xeon® E5530 (2.40GHz/4-core/8MB/80W, DDR3-1066, HT, Turbo 1/1/2/2) Processor
Intel® Xeon® E5520 (2.26GHz/4-core/8MB/80W, DDR3-1066, HT, Turbo 1/1/2/2) Processor
Intel® Xeon® E5506 (2.13GHz/4-core/4MB/80W, DDR3-800) Processor
Intel® Xeon® E5504 (2.00GHz/4-core/4MB/80W, DDR3-800) Processor
Intel® Xeon® E5502 (1.86GHz/2-core/4MB/80W, DDR3-800) Processor
"
I'm wondering if I can fit older and cheaper CPUs, such as the E5345?

Yes it will support it, it's the same specs as the above regarding Cache and TDP, nm.

Thanks for the response.

My ML 150 has 24GB RAM and an E5502 CPU. I've been offered a 2nd 24GB of RAM, & I know I need 2 CPUs to use more than 24GB. Can I fit an E5506 along with my existing E5502, or do the CPUs have to be identical?

Thanks

I don't have an expertise on this field actually, but i'm sure that it will fit and still the better way is to contact HP for more further details :)

You have to have the same model processors in a dual/multi proc setup. So you need two E5502's or 2 E5506's.
