Hey all, basically building a new rig in a week and still cant decide on the graphics card that i am going to get. At the moment i've got:
i7 2600k
haf 932 advanced
16GB 1600MHz
750GB HD
Corsair TX850
My limit to what i am going to spend is £700 MAX but just wandering which are the best and which would you recommend?

I think you'd do best to wait on the 7970 and go with it in a week or two when it hits the Egg. Any new generation's generally a better value, and the 7970 proves this by significantly outperforming the 580 for not very much more money.

What resolution are you going to be playing at and what games will you be playing? Early benchmarks show that 7970 is superior to gtx 580, but it's worth your time to wait a week to see detailed and accurate results from retail versions of the 7970.

Forget about the gtx 580. Go for hd 7970 if you could get one. I was told the hd 6990 will still be the fastest single card solution.

If you're playing at only 1080p, any of those will kill every single game. A 7970 is probably your best bet, as it delivers playable framerates even at 2560x1600 with all settings cranked.

Although you could quite possibly find 6970s or maybe 580s for a much cheaper price and go with crossfire/sli. However, again, at 1080p that is massive overkill. I wouldn't suggest doing that unless you go with a triple monitor setup.
