Help me build my dream PC

Hello,

I am building my dream PC. These are the components I chose. Please let me know what you think about them because it's the first time I build a PC. Also, do you think that I will be able to use the Intel Water Cooling in the LIAN LI Case I selected and will the motherboard work/fit in that case?

Thank you very much!

  1. hello
    your build is not balanced
you have a mid range 560 card with a extreme series 6 core
you don't need a 1k psu for a 560 unless you want to have multi gpu setup in the future
for a liquid cooler I would recommend a h100 if you have dual exhaust fans on top or the h80 for a single radiator
32gigs sounds like an overkill, get 16 gigs unless you will be running virtual mashines
  2. Thank you very much..I will be using this computer to make music so I do need a lot of RAM and a powerful processor. The graphic card is not that important because I will just play a few games. The power supply needs to be silent but I'll look at other options.

Any other help would be greatly appreciated :)
  3. chop that $1000 processor just a little to the 3930K, which will pay for a 7970 gpu.
  4. can you give us a budget?
  5. ^+1 for asking budget.remember-
    in price/performance value
    SB>SB E
X79 is made for servers and heavily multi threaded apps that can use 4+ cores.this is dead end.you can't upgrade in future.hardly 10%~15% boost over SB in games and double the cost :(
say no to x79 for gaming.
    Z68 is better.infat it's hell better.reasons-
    cheaper
    best price to performance ratio
    can upgrade to ivy bridge
all the necessary features an enthusiast requires!
so there's no point of spending $1k on cpu and getting a $250 gpu LOLOLOLO!!!!!!
  6. Thanks for the answers and btw unlimited budget (well 8k is the maximum)..

I am looking to build a computer to use software such as Cubase to make music so the videocard is not important to me. I am not planning on using this machine for games...

Hellfire, as I said..I need the most powerful machine out there (I'm not interested in dual Xeons machines though).
  7. I suggest an Intel Xeon E5-2650 Sandy Bridge-EP 8 core. This will require overclocking.

Seems ASUS has no 2011 motherboards to support Xeon so the ASROCK Extreme6.

The rest is up to you but I would suggest 2 x 7970's.
