I know next to nothing about motherboards, and I've chosen all the other parts for a new build.
I was going to go with the...

Asus P6Z68-V LX Socket 1155: http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/motherboards/intel1155z68chipsetmotherboards/90-mibh80-g0eay0kz.html

But I noticed these for slightly more:

Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3-B3:

Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3:
http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/motherboards/intel1155z68chipsetmotherboards/ga-z68ap-d3.html

This new build is an i5-2500k one with an MSI GeForce 560 Ti Twin Frozr II/OC 1GB and I will be using it for web browsing, programming and the occasional gaming session. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

You really can't go wrong either way - it all depends on what features you need that will determine what you get.

That should be a good board - as long as it's Asus or Gigabyte those are usually the best.

OK, Thanks. Just one more thing: do I need a higher-end mobo if i don't plan on doing SLi/CF and only plan on having one internal HDD?

No - that motherboard should come with 2 x SATA-III and 4 x SATA-II ports and at least 2 x PCI 2.0 x 16 slots and 1 x PCI 3.0 x 16 slot - you won't need anything more higher end than that.

Yeah, I meant whether or not that mobo was necessary/overpowered for what I need.

I would seriously consider Asrock Extreme3 Gen3!! I've built everything on Asus boards in the past, but Asrock has taken the crown as far as quality goes, and value..
