Pc cuts off after 10 seconds

hi i took my gpu out of my pc to check it because i was gettin driver not responding pop ups, and when ive put it back in my pc comes on for 10 seconds then the power cuts, ive even tried without the graphic card an it still cuts so im confused


specs:
radeon hd 4870 x2
Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P motherboard
4gb DDR 3
core i7 920ghz
600w power supply

I'm surprised that you say your PC work at all because the Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P is an AM3 socket ( for AMD processors ) & your processor is an Intel i7 920.

Please check your specs again & post the correct information.

That's more like it.

processor might be overheating. Is there time that it stay long enough to get the temperatures via HWMonitor or other tools?

In any case, when was the last time you cleaned your PC specially the cpu heatsink?
