Ok so I recently got my new Hazro HZ27WC Monitor, upon setting it up I found the PC would not boot properly. I am confused as to what could be the cause of this problem. I can boot up using my old monitor (Using the same DVI -D cable) which eliminates the cable as the fault.

Specs-

MSI P67 GD65
6950 2GB
XFX 850W
I5-2500K
4GB DDR3

Any suggestions on how to solve this?

(Apologies if this is in the wrong section)

Chris.

its maybe a resolution problem depending on what os you have... go to vga mode by pressing f8 on startup and change the resolution to your monitor that way. It could be a bad monitor but what i said is most likely the issue.

Yes i'll second that. Can you see the screen at BIOS level? If so I agree with gavenr.

Thanks for the replies, will try when I get home and update

@jdenova007

The Marvell controller screen comes and goes, then there is a black screen with a blinking cursor in the top left corner of the screen.

Usually the blinking cursor means it is trying to load windows but can't, and that typically points to a Hard Drive, or corrupt software.... but installing a new monitor should have no effect to either of those..... weird.

When you turn it on, try and press F8 and tell it to boot into 'Safe Mode'. See if that works.... the screen shouldn't cause a no boot situation like you are saying. It just sits at the blinking cursor screen and never gets any further???

F8 doesn't do anything... :??:

I can assume that Windows isn't the problem then?

I read up on EDID files a bit earlier and I was wondering if that was my issue?
