I am upgrading an old Packard Bell P90. Anybody know if EDO memory work in a system that originally used FPM?

I'm not sure about your particular model. Some Pentium's of that generation from other name brands support EDO, some not. There're some ussues related to memory compatability.
It's better to search by your specific computer model through recomendation lists of different memory manufacturers at their web sites. And you'll be able to check the availability of EDO RAM of different capacity.

Just one site came to my mind - The Memory Experts from Crucial:

Perhaps I should re-state my question. I have a P90 that was built for FPM memory. I would like to technically know if there is any reason that EDO RAM would not work in a system that was built pre-EDO for FPM only.

My guess is that the EDO ram will work. However it will work without taking advantage of the speed boost EDO originally had vs the FPM memory.

I realize this is a question best asked at the National Archives, but I thought someone may know.

FYI: I am aware of sites like crucial's and kingston's. However they are only interested in telling you what your system was built for, not necessarily what will work in it.

Yes, it should work. EDO was actually designed for the Pentium processor. I had a PacBell P133 that came with EDO... man, that was like 5-6 years ago.
