Current Specs:

Biostar MCP6P M2+ AM2+ MOBO (Capacitors on this are actually nice, I Know its a cheaper Motherboard but it works!.)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 2.0ghz Overclocked to 2.90ghz <---- Need I Say More?
2gb DDR2-800 Ram <--- although Mobo Does Support up to DDR2-1066 4gb
ATI Radeon HD x2600 XT 256mb GDDR4 256-Bit OC Edition <--- REALLY Needs an Upgrade Now..
120gb SSD w/ 320gb 7200rpm WD Blue HDD
Pixxo 500w PSU <-- Do I Even Need to say?
Cheap PC Case <-- Just No.

What I Am Thinking on Getting/Keeping:

Biostar MCP6P M2+ AM2+ MOBO (Already Own It)
AMD Phenom X4 3750+ OC to 3.2ghz (Friend is Sending me it!)
4gb DDR2-800 Ram (Friend is sending 2 2gb Sticks!)
EVGA nVIDIA GTX 580 1.5gb GDDR5 384-Bit
120gb SSD w/ 320gb 7200rpm WD Blue HDD (Already own both)
Corsair Gaming Series GS700 700w PSU
Cooler Master Storm Scout Gaming Case

Approximate Purchase Date: This Month

Budget Range: (e.g.: 600-800) $600 BEFORE Rebates

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Movies, Internet.

Parts Not Required: Keyboard (Although I Would like a better one, but not required), Mouse (I Have Cyborg R.A.T. 7), Monitor, CPU (Friend is sending the 3750+), Ram (Unless I Should goto DDR2-1066), Motherboard (UNLESS Its Necessary), DVD Drive (Although Bluray would be cool, its definitely not needed.).

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg, eBay

Country: USA

Parts Preferences: nVIDIA, AMD, Western Digital, Crucial, OCZ

Overclocking: Yes, Although I Am Novice.

SLI or Crossfire: No, Rooms to hot already, two cards everything would overheat.

Monitor Resolution: 1600x1200, 1680x1050, 1920x1080 (I Have 3 Monitors, But I do NOT need Tri-Monitor Support, only Dual.)

Additional Comments: I'm looking to future proof my PC for at least another 4 years, I know thats a long time, But By then I Will have graduated and have a job to Buy something better. I Just dont want to worry about buying another PC for at least that long. Keep In Mind I Will be using it for Gaming. I Want to play on Very High/Extra/ Just Maxed. After about 2 years I Wont mind if on newer games I have to play a notch down though. I Already Have A CPU, Ram, Motherboard, Display, Keyboard, Monitor, Harddrive (although I Do feel mine will be failing within the 4 year time frame), I Also Own an SSD, and a DVD Drive.

Want I Want to Upgrade is my GPU, POSSIBLY HDD but again I do have a 120gb SSD, and it definitely needs a quality psu, And I Want a nice case, my current case is just a cheap one. I Have $600 To Blow on upgrades because I sold my MacBook Pro (Early 2008).

Solution
Yea, if I was in your position, I would trash the mobo, cpu, and ram in two years and get cheap intel stuff.
You *can* indeed keep the rest like the psu, ssd drive, etc etc.

Not just that but you will HORRIBLY bottleneck a GTX580 if your only running DDR2 and an AMD phenom. Spend the 500 from the card on a new motherboard, cpu and ram. Then get yourself a GTX 560. Also as above poster said Intel is currently much better than AMD so I would advise you to get an i5 sandy bridge CPU

I'd Rather Wait to get a new Mobo/Ram/CPU When I Get more money, I Have always wanted a Top Grade GPU.. This GTX 580 Should last a good 4 years in performance right? And Yeah, I Know Intel is extremely Better, I Just dont have enough to replace the mobo/ram/cpu/gpu/psu/case with top grade stuff, so Since I'm already quad core, I'm going for a top graphics card. Then Later I'll most likely change to intel.. Now Tell me this though, If I Sell the CPU/Ram/Mobo I Already Have is a Top Core 2 Duo or Even Core 2 Quad better than this Phenom??
