Hello, i'm running world ofand warcraft on eyefiniy, resolution 5760x1080. (Exact resolution 6004x1080)

When i'm in raid and dungeons my FPS is at 40+ which is perfect, however when i'm in an area that requires a huge amount to be render at one time my fps go to about 15 and because very spiky.

I was wondering what the cuase of this may be.
video card stays around 80% activity
ram is using 3.2 of 4the gigs
and cpu is usually about 90% usuage.

System specs
Amd phenom ii 925 o.c. 3.1ghz
4 gb ddr3 1333
XfX HD 6870 2gb
sata 7200rpm HHD

Your HD6870 do not have enough power to run eyefinity at high fps.

If your motherboard supports Crossfire, get another 6870 and it might improve your fps. I myself have 2x6950 2GB running on 5760x1080 and can only reach 45-55fps in Crysis 2. I do not play WOW & do not know how GPU intensive it is. But at 6004x1080 I am certain a single 6870 ( even with 2GB RAM) can not generate decent fps on it.

So you believe it's maily the card that can't handle it and a cpu upgrade or memory upgrande wont have much of an inprovment it any?

One more thing is if I run the game at 1x AA vs 8x AA there is no preformance change. As in fps drops. The cards activiy usually only goes to 80% but that's not saying it's out of video memory either. Is there anyway to see if i'm using all the cards memory?

One thing I left out was I have a 650 watt power supply nothing huge but should be enough.

The CPU is enough & the RAM is enough. Its definitely the single 6870 can not handle it...
I'm sorry but I do not see the need to see RAM occupancy so I can not help you there.
But your 650watt PSU can handle a second 6870. How about your mobo? what is the brand & model...

I don't remember the model it's asus tho. It only has a single pci express slot.
However I did find my issuse. It was a slow HDD I had a friend stick a ssd in and the problem was fixed the fps wasn't higher but it didn't spike anymore. I'm averaging 30 fps everywhere and some places up to 80.

But yeah wow doesn't take too much from your card.

Thank you for your imput tho, I also tried runing blade and soul beta and well let's say i'm gonna need crossfired cards for that one.

Too bad you only have 1 PCIe slot. Crossfire would be cool for your current eyefinity setup...
Of course you can sell your 6870 & buy a 6970 or wait for the 7XXX series to boost up your fps even with a single card.
