Hello,

I need advise on new graphic card, my current system specs:

CPU: E8400 3.0GHz
Monitor: Dell U2311H (23")
Motherboard: ASUS P5k SE
RAM: 4GB
Graphic Display: Nvidia 9800GT
PSU: CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 CMPSU-600CXV2 600W PSU

I am thinking of buying GTX 460 or 470

Please advise if my current system will handle the card or if my PSU will be enough,

Thanks

I would not buy a GTX470. Your PSU is sufficient for any single GPU. In your place, I would probably get a GTX560 or GTX560Ti, or if my budget were tight, a HD6870.

gtx 460 is being phased out by nvidia. current gtx 460 on sale has two versions, a 192 bit memory bus version and a 256 bit memory bus version. a radeon hd 6870 is a better choice considering the 256 bit one's higher price. if you must get an nvidia card, then get a gtx 560ti 1gb gddr5. examples (based on price):
192 bit gtx 460 $150

256 bit gtx 460 $225

his iceqx radeon hd 6870 1gb $170

xfx double d 6870 $190

sapphire radeon hd 6870 $165

edit: added 6870s.

Thanks alot for your replies guys, I will check and decide which to get. The GTX 560Ti sounds very good, I am a heavy gamer, played Aion Online. Anyone plays this game? and using this GTX 560Ti, is it working smoothly?

I still have some problem with my system right now, It freezes pretty often, I am not sure what is the problem. I dont have much knowledge in computer. My system suddenly just freezes up, I can't move my cursor or do anything, even using the restarting button won't work, the system will not boot up, it locks and ask to insert system disc or such. I can only shut it down by holding the Power Button long until it's down and restart.

I am pretty sure it's not a software issue because I just formatted my system and this issue still happens. I am running windows 7 32bit.

Any idea on this, please help... would be very grateful.

I also want to know if my ASUS Motherboard P5k SE supports Memory DDR3, I am currently using DDR2 4GB (2GBx2), I am not sure if this freezing problem is coming from my RAM, CPU or anything else. My PSU is new and I have this freezing issue even before changing the PSU so I don't think PSU is the problem.

Will be waiting for your help,

Thanks,
