AMD HD6970 Temps

I just stress tested my new AMD HD6970. It idles around 41C-42C. However, under full load with a FurMark Burn In Test, I peaked at 89C and temps stabilized at 87C. Are these temps normal? I have the side panel off right now.

something wrongs the max should be in 70's.

Well this was running a stress test and not just playing a game. I don't know if that makes a difference?
