How does adding stream processors increase performance?

I know I'm asking a hard question, and it may require some other components to be discussed, but just give it to me in basic terms :)  If you could.

I'd also like to know how core clock speeds interact with stream processors (if they do at all.)

each stream processor can do a simple instruction per clock cycle mostly operate on 1 pixel or a few of them.

increasing the number of them will allow more operation to be done at once and increasing the core clock increase the speed each processor does the operation.

Actually it's pretty simple of a question. Think of one stream proc as one brain, more brains means more computing power. They are all working in parallel so let's say 1 stream proc is doing 1 calculation per second, if you have 100 stream procs then you do 100 calculations per second.

Core clock is the speed of the gpu; the gpu being all the stream procs so you can say the core clock is the speed of the stream procs.
