Looking for a Micro-ATX case under $50

Hello hammers,

I have recently build my first PC. It is by no mean a monster in performance, and was never meant to be, however it is big by its shape, at least for my liking. In fact, I have a lot of free room inside the case. Even if I know it helps for ventilation purposes, I feel like shrinking the whole machine to a size convenient enough for my living room. To be fully honest, I have never liked the look of tower PCS, and I dream now of stuffing everything mine has into a cute looking cube.

I have seen some interesting designs like: http://www.lan-gear.eu/us/langear-microATX-DaBox100, but the price is double what I am willing to pay. I thought of building from scratch at one point, but got caught by... reality (no real skills, not really handy, not much spare time). It did lead me to determinig the maximum size I would consider acceptable:
22cmx29cmx37cm (8.6" x 11.4" x 14.6" approx).

websites like newegg.ca (I live in Toronto, Canada), and direct canada offer great products, but once again I could not seem to find anything in my price range. If you could suggest me with links and details, some Micro ATX cases under $50 that I could use for the configuration below, I would greatly appreciate.

* Cooler Master Elite 370 (not bad but just too big for me)
- Motherboard: Micro ATX Gigabyte A75M-D2H
- CPU(APU): A6 3500 with stock heatsink/fan
- Optical: ASUS BC-12B1ST ATA
- Hard drive: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB
- Graphics card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 1GB
- PSU: Antec 450W (non modulable I have loads of cables all around)

Thank you guys,
Mao.

From the link you gave, I understand the type of case you would like but for <$50 it aint happening..

A nice mATX case I can recommend is this:

Very nice and should fit your needs perfectly

Nice one indeed. Thanks for the recommendation. I am watching the description on Newegg TV at the moment. I like the simple design, and the price. The only thing is the shape. It is style tower oriented. Do you know of anything that would look more like a cube, dektop. Something stockier to put it simply?

One of my favorite cases is the lian li V351 or V352. I had one in the red anodized aluminum coler. Stunning...

As a suggestion, bust your budget for a case you really love. You will be looking at it for a long time.
I have rarely regretted paying too much, but often regretted buying cheap.

Lian Li hey!?

I have been drooling over their products for the last two weeks. However som rki mistakes n component choiceswhile building my macine have stretched outmy budget really really thin. There is no room left in my purse for higher end cases.

I do take your point though, about buying cheap, since I am paying the cost of it right now. The Elite 370 is great, unexpensive, but would have fit a different type of build. Another instance (I discussed that one on another thread) is buying a HD 6450 thinking it would improve graphics and realizing I needed something beefier (bought the HD 7770 later on). I now find my self with components that are really hard to sell second hand (for me t least).

Any other suggestion? Is second hand for cases common? if yes, where should I go for that?

1) Save up until you have enough to buy exactly what you want.

2) Yes, ebay is a good place to buy used cases cheaper. Not so good for new cases.
Put v352 in a saved search, along with v351 and you will get notified when one comes up.
I did a quick search, and there is a v352 case on auction with a current price of $65.
It will likely go for more:

Thanks geofelt . Once again nice piece of advice. I will be putting my Elite 370 for sale as well.

I guess I should be realistic and up the cap of my budget closer to the $100 mark. If anyone as suggestions I will still really much appreciate them.

Would anyone recommend APEVIA as a brand?
The reviews on Newegg are pretty encouraging, and that might be the case I would settle for. It is not that expensive (bloody shipping cost though; newegg could do something about that. It is ridiculous).

I like the design of the case. But for $10 more, I will take lian li quality.

You should probably dump the included psu.

hey Geofelt.

Just an update on my build. I settled for the Silverstons Sugo SG02-F inblack. I just love it. It was on sale at Canada Computers, and I had it for $80 tax included.
http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=6...

It is the perfect size. It fits all my components, and I could even efficiently manage my cables. I just have a doubt on how to add the other 80mm fans. Intake or exhaust. i have to figure it out.
