9600GT upgrade - advice needed

Been out of the loop for a while. What's a good upgrade to a GeForce 9600GT running at 1920x1200. Computer has a Core 2 Duo E8400 (overclocked to 3.6 GHz), with a Corsair 650W power supply.

I'm thinking GTX 460 or GTX 560 ti. Given my cpu, do you think the gtx 560 ti would provide higher fps than the gtx 460?

I know this is a little reading but it will help you with your answer. What I am getting out of it is a quad core would be the better bet but I will let you read it.
