I just built a new PC and screwed up. I won't bore you with the detail but I want to RMA the CPU and motherboard. Is their any differences with RMAing with newegg versus RMAing with the manufacturer of the components?

You'll probably get blamed for messing up the Mobo and end up having to buy a new one no matter what. As for the CPU if you didn't purchase it that long ago from newegg I believe 30 days then RMA with them.

Just look at their RMA guidelines. They'll want to know why you are returning the item(s). You will have to bore them with the details.

+1, Yes, please explain. Newegg or The manufacturer, Newegg if it's been less than 30days from the date of purchase. Manufacturer if it has been longer.
