Hi guys. I found out how cheap 3D monitors are and I'm like OMFG! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236092

My question is REALLY basic, but can get complicated.

Question: What do I need to enable 3D? Just this monitor? Do I need a special graphics card? (I'm getting a GTX 580 or 6970) Do I basically need anything BESIDES glasses and the monitor? Thanks guys! Your awesome!

First person to answer with good, valid data/proof gets selected as best answer :)

Edit: Question 2 While we're at it, the GTX 580, will this be reliable for 3D? (1.5GB) or do I go with something else? (GPU)

Solution
For 3D you need 3 things:-
1)Graphics Card from Nvidia only
2)Monitor 120Hz supported
3)3D vision kit which includes an emitter & one glasses

You have selected a pretty decent graphics card so you don't need to worry for gpu .They are providing you with all the necessary requirements for 3D vision so in short go for it.

So, with a GTX 580 1.5GB, will that be enough memory? (at 1080p...)
and with the monitor I have above, I am basically BUYING 3D, and can I turn off 3D? Thanks so much man!

Yes,that much memory will be fine.
If you increase the memory then the only impact will be on shared memory that is RAM( RAM memory will be used up less and give a little boost but don't worry about).

As I earlier said go for it I am repeating again go for it and yes you can switch off 3D vision whenever you require it(By pressing the button of nvidia on emitter or by using ctrl+T).

Don't be skeptical.

It will give you a little bit increment only by using less space on shared RAM and increasing your processing.

Personal suggestion :-I am using just a 1GB of gpu memory and then also i can play 3D games or watch 3D movies of 1080p on 1680x1050p resolution(my monitor limitation) with no lags or hindrance during the buffering.

ok.Then you will be able to get a 600series Nvidia gpu as well as a 3D monitor.
Its also a plus point for you.
